Field Day Reminders:

      Please make sure students wear their Field Day shirts and their uniform bottoms with good running shoes. Uniform compliant shoes are not required BUT NO CLEATS.
      PARENTS that are NOT FINGERPRINTED need to remain sitting on the bleachers.
      We start field day at 8:30 sharp. It is vital that scholars be on time that day in order to fully participate.
      Please have students bring their own water bottle – there will be refill stations on the field!
      Consider sending an extra-large healthy snack for the afternoon.  Students will receive provided snacks during field day morning activities, but are often tired and hungry by the afternoon.
      Please put sunscreen on your child before they arrive at school.
      Always Encourage sportsmanship and virtuous behavior.




Academics
Math
This week will be practicing multiplication and division by 4
Reading
This week we will continue reading Little House in the Big Woods. Students will learn about
Poetry
This week we will continue  working on “ The Hayloft”. Volunteer recitations will begin on Thursday, with the remainder of the class following on Friday.
Language Arts
We will continue our practice of identifying pronouns.  In writing we will discuss the relationship between details and topic sentences.
Spalding
We will be learning 10 new words on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We will review all 30 words on Thursday  and test on Friday. You will notice that some of the words will be written in cursive - please have your scholar do only these words  in cursive.
Science
This week in science we will continue with simple machines. Projects are due February 20th, 2020.
History & Geography
We will be starting our unit on Westward Expansion this week.
