Announcements:
Please send your student with a healthy snack and lunch to help him or her be successful throughout the day in the classroom. We have noticed that students who have highly-processed and sugary meals have difficulty concentrating in class and regulating behavior. (Please keep this in mind as Halloween approaches).
Please remember to send your child with a reusable water bottle for the school day.
Reading groups continue this week, and students should be reading their leveled readers out loud with parents 15-20 minutes every night. Please send books back to school on Mondays and Thursdays.
Below are some questions to ask your students about what we learned this past week:
- What are the three main body parts of an insect? (head, thorax, abdomen)
- How many legs do insects have? (6)
- What do insects have on top of their heads? (antenna)
- Who was known as the King of the gods in ancient Greece? (Zeus)
- How was Greece divided up? (into city-states)
- What are the names of some city-states that you know? (Athens, Sparta, Crete)
- Last week students did group research about one of the Greek gods. Ask them who they learned about and what information they can tell you about that god.
